FLCL 0.8 - Controller Update

Version 0.8 is out now. 

Here’s what’s new:

• The game’s locked at 30 FPS now, so the animations don’t look all weird and jumpy. It’s "smoother"… feels better to play.

• You can actually use a PS4 controller now! Sorry Xbox people, this one’s made for DualShock 4. It just feels right.

• Swimming has been adjusted.

• Controls are like this:

  • X to do stuff / interact

  • Square to jump

  • Triangle to ride the hoverboard

  • Circle to skip cutscenes or go back on the teleport menu

  • Start to pause the game, 

  • Share to show the controls (in case you forget)

  • Left stick moves you

  • Right stick moves the camera

  • L1 and R1 switch your weapons

  • R2 to attack

  • Touchpad Click to Zoom the camera

• The lighting/fog is changed a bit — now it’s got that orangish tint like in the anime. It’s kinda cool, I think.

• The sky is fixed now — no more weird box lines showing up when you look up.

• Orange tip markers added to the world to help you remember the PS4 buttons.

DS4 Software included in game zip.

PS4 Controller Setup Tips:
If you’re using DS4 software to play, make sure it’s emulating a DualShock 4 controller properly not Xbox. Also, double-check that the Share button is mapped to the actual Share button, and the Touchpad is set up as the Touchpad click. This way, the Share button and touchpad functions work exactly like on a real PS4 controller. The touchpad should Zoom The Camera, The Share button should show the controls.
